The Art of Incense Making

If you’re interested in crafting your own ritual incense, then Carl E. Neal is the person to learn from. On YouTube, he’s known as The Incense Dragon, and I’m grateful a friend recommended him to me. His videos are loaded with practical instruction on how to make incense, along with its history and magical uses. It’s clear he has dedicated his life to this art form, and I’m thankful he’s willing to share so much knowledge with those who seek it out.

I recently ordered his book Incense: Crafting and Use of Magickal Scents, which is a master lass on the subject. It contains everything you need to know about incense making—and more. The recipe section alone is worth the price of the book, and the depth of knowledge he shares with his readers is astonishing. I can’t image there’s a better book out there on the subject.

While watching some of his videos, I learned that his production studio was destroyed in a fire caused by a lightning strike. He considered giving it up, but fortunately for us, he rebuilt the studio and is back in business. He sells a wide range of products including incense-making kits, supplies, cone molds and more. If you’re able, show this guy some love and support his business. I recently bought a cone mold from him and absolutely love it.
